Adeline R. Shultz, 106, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 14, 2022, at UPMC Carlisle.
She was born September 23, 1915, in McClellandtown, PA to the late Logan and Myrtle Emma (Harvey) Ross. Adeline was the widow of Charles A. Shultz who passed in 1978.
She formerly owned and operated a beauty salon in Carlisle and the Mayflower Restaurant in Middlesex. Adeline later retired from the state after working in various capacities for Probation and Parole. She was a wonderful cook and a self-taught artist who really enjoyed oil painting. Adeline continued to compete in ballroom dancing until she was 93 years of age. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, sister, and Nana.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl L. (husband David) Matthews; five grandchildren, Steven (wife Angie) Shultz of Dover, PA, Michael Shultz of Iowa, Kelly (husband Ryan) Finkey of Mt. Holly Springs, Shawn Matthews of Carlisle, and Tanya (husband Andy) Burns of Carlisle; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Adeline was preceded in death by her son, C. Douglad Shultz and three siblings, Evelyn, James, and Alberta.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Adeline to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
