Polly K. Miller, 80, of Carlisle died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
Born December 31, 1931 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Roy L. and Elizabeth R. Reisler Krall and the widow of Benjamin Paul “Andyâ€Â Miller.
Polly was a graduate and supporter of Wilson College in Chambersburg. She received a Masters Degree in Reading Education from Millersville University. Polly was a teacher in Carlisle and South Middleton School Districts. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, past member of Women’s Association Board, a deacon, and a 57 year choir member. Polly was involved with the Friends of the Bosler Library. She was a member of AAUW, the Carlisle Travelers Club and a board member of the New Genesis Ministry. Polly was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving are one son, Douglas P. Miller (and wife, LuAnn) of Northfield, NJ; one daughter, Susan M. Wimer (and husband, Dennis) of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Erin and Grant Miller and Lauren Wimer McClain (and husband, Matt) and Hannah Wimer; three great-grandsons; two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Madelyn Krall, Kathryn Weaver, Nancy Crouse, and Jean Krall.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle with Rev. Jeffery W. Gibelius and Rev. Jennifer J. McKenna co-officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family invites any friends to gather with them following the service.
