Frank E. Mellott, age 91, of Carlisle, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 12, 1925 in Carlisle to the late Colonel and Ethel Holtry Mellott.
Frank married Romaine Mellott in October 1945 and together they owned Mellott's Masonry & Construction Company in Carlisle for more than 50 years. Frank was a lifelong member of Waggoner's United Methodist Church. Frank was a very kind and gentle soul; he had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring classic cars, riding his motorcycle, fishing and hunting. He was an active member of the Turnpike Ramblers Motorcycle Club and served as Middlesex Township Zoning Officer for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Romaine J. Mellott, of Carlisle; 3 sons, Daryl F. (and wife Cina) of Carlisle, Michael R. (and wife Carolyn) of Carlisle, and Dennis G. (and wife Cindy) of Lebanon; 2 daughters, Cheryl L. (and husband Steve) Rohm of Carlisle, and Tamara J. (and husband Gene) Dunning of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie Kepner of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Lester, Chester, Colonel and Paul Mellott and 2 sisters, Elsie Lay and Elva Dehart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Waggoners United Methodist Church, PA with Rev. Dr. Richard E. Denison, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Waggoners United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waggoners United Methodist Church 1271 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle 17013 and or Celtic Hospice 900 Century Drive Suite 201 Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
