Dorothy K. Wise

Dorothy K. Wise, 95, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
Born October 26, 1915 in Churchtown, Cumberland County, a daughter of the late Harry Albert and Bertha Mae Arnold Fair and the widow of Martin L. Wise.
She was co-owner of Marty’s Auto Sales. She attended Bell School (one room school house) in Churchtown. Dorothy was an avid bingo player. She loved antiquing and traveling, especially to China. She collected Chickens on nests, tea kettles, coffee pots and lots of brass statues.
Surviving are one son, Martin H. Wise of Carlisle, one daughter-in-law, Mary Louise Wise of Carlisle, five grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Wise of Carlisle, Martin H. Wise II of Venice, FL, Dorothy K. Wise of Carlisle, David B. Wise of Illinois and Michael C. Wise of New York, NY, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David Fair and Kenneth Fair and one sister, Evelyn Irby.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor Stefanie Hasenbrink officiating. Burial will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingston. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
